Job Overview

Get Fresh Produce has been a trusted provider of fresh produce and related products since 1982, serving restaurants and various end users in Indiana and nearby regions. We are currently seeking a dedicated Transportation Manager to oversee operations at our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily driver dispatch and allocate necessary equipment for efficient operations.
  • Optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency and timely customer service.
  • Monitor compliance with cold chain management and driver performance.
  • Supervise drivers and yard personnel to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Engage in hands-on management, including ride-alongs for training and coaching.
  • Address service-related issues in collaboration with sales, customer service, and operations teams.
  • Work closely with dispatch to align with business requirements.
  • Coordinate with operations to meet the needs of customers and drivers.
  • Assist in the recruitment process for drivers, including interviews and assessments.
  • Participate in safety investigations and conduct root-cause analyses.
  • Facilitate monthly meetings with drivers to discuss performance metrics.
  • Review driver payroll hours using the Kronos system.
  • Ensure compliance with Hours of Service regulations as per DOT and FMCSA standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors for fleet maintenance, repairs, and rental equipment.
  • Develop driver schedules, manage time-off requests, and address attendance issues.
  • Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years in transportation, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Produce Pro ERP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with driver safety protocols and DOT compliance.
  • Experience in transportation or warehousing within the food sector is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to navigate challenging situations.
  • Effective leadership skills focused on team morale and motivation.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and physical examination.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Proficient in English; bilingual candidates are a plus.
  • CDL A or B Class license is preferred.

Work Schedule:

  • 5-day work week, with 40+ hours expected.
  • Shift starts at 1:00 PM and ends at 10:30 PM or until duties are completed.
  • Mandatory holiday shifts and occasional Saturday work required.
  • Days off include Sunday and one weekday, with additional days as needed based on business demands.
  • This position requires in-person attendance.
