POSITION SUMMARY
The Logistics Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting Warehouse management with various operational tasks, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and staging production orders. This role is vital for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Confirming that received merchandise aligns with purchase specifications.
- Executing FIFO picking, auditing, and preparing work orders for production.
- Maintaining organized warehouse tags and ensuring a tidy work environment at all times.
- Safely operating basic forklifts for product handling.
- Efficiently loading and unloading freight while accurately documenting all necessary paperwork.
- Receiving and processing incoming orders.
- Transporting materials from inspection or storage areas to designated locations within the warehouse.
- Compiling customer orders from stock and arranging them on pallets or shelves, or relocating them to holding areas.
- Performing labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and other miscellaneous tasks as required.
- Utilizing warehouse equipment safely and effectively while meeting productivity and quality standards.
- Inspecting products for inventory accuracy, damage, and infestation, and completing the necessary documentation.
- Assisting in the physical inventory counting process.
- Maintaining cleanliness in the work area through regular cleaning tasks.
- Wearing appropriate safety gear at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items exceeding 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities, including color vision, are required for this position.
- Capability to read and interpret operational and maintenance documents, as well as departmental instructions.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Familiarity with MRP, MS Word, MS Excel, and other relevant software applications.
- Knowledge of MAS database is preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- A minimum of three months of related experience and/or training.
- Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting is beneficial.
- Experience with cycle counts and inventory management is advantageous.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is situated in a typical warehouse environment. Employees may encounter various equipment, including box cutters, shipping adhesives, packaging materials, ladders, forklifts, industrial scales, and delivery trucks. Noise levels may vary.
While performing job duties, employees frequently stand, walk, stoop, or kneel, and may occasionally sit for extended periods.
