Community Organizing and Advocacy Director

About the Role:

Bread for the City's Movement Lawyering Practice is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our community organizing and advocacy efforts.

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in community organizing or a related field, with a demonstrated commitment to social justice and a proven track record of achieving results.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leveraging relationships with local community groups and organizations to advance Bread for the City's mission
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to increase community engagement and participation in Bread for the City's programs
  • Collaborating with staff attorneys and paralegals to integrate community organizing and advocacy work into our litigation practice

We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5-7 years of experience in community organizing or a related field
  • A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
