Position Overview: As a Sales Compensation Accounting Leader within the Global Accounting team, you will be pivotal in steering accounting operations in a vibrant and fast-paced setting. We seek candidates with a strong background in team leadership, month-end close journal entry reviews, control execution, SOX compliance, process/system enhancements, and preparation of schedules for monthly/quarterly reviews, annual audits, and financial documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize knowledge of ASC 606 (IFRS 15) to manage accounting for commission payments, ensuring a thorough understanding of Salesforce's sales compensation frameworks and ad-hoc incentives.
  • Engage collaboratively with Sales Compensation and Finance & Strategy teams.
  • Oversee month-end closing activities by evaluating journal entries, account reconciliations, and conducting fluctuation analyses.
  • Guarantee adherence to US GAAP standards, SOX controls, and documentation requirements.
  • Lead the preparation of schedules to support the 10Q and 10K financial reporting processes.
  • Work closely with internal and external audit teams to facilitate audits by providing necessary schedules, evidence, and process overviews.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in accounting processes, including data reconciliation, reporting, and analysis.
  • Manage a diverse team across various levels and locations to ensure tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines.
  • Assist in team development by mentoring, educating, and reviewing the work of accounting team members.
  • Drive special projects to successful completion.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 6+ years of experience in accounting, including public accounting (ideal candidates will have both accounting firm and corporate experience).
  • CPA (or local equivalent) certification.
  • A degree or equivalent relevant experience is required, evaluated based on the Values & Behaviors for the role.
  • Prior management experience in an accounting capacity.
  • Experience with large ERP systems such as Workday Finance or Oracle (Workday Accounting Center is a plus).
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and VLOOKUP, with the ability to handle large volumes of transactional data.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Effective communication skills to influence and collaborate with cross-functional and remote teams.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Experience from a Big 4 audit firm.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficient in organizing and prioritizing responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze new situations, evaluate data, draw valid conclusions, and present information effectively to management.
  • Demonstrated capability to work cross-functionally and engage with various levels within an organization.
  • Experience with accounting for costs related to contracts (ASC 340-40, Contracts with Customers) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Tableau.
