This role involves specialized customer support responsibilities, focusing on addressing and managing customer inquiries as part of the 311 Customer Support Center.

Job Responsibilities:
The position requires effective management of non-emergency communications and administrative tasks related to the 311 Customer Support Center. Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with citizens/customers in person for payment processing and information sharing.
  • Evaluating and responding accurately to a range of citizen service requests and municipal service inquiries.
  • Working in accordance with established procedures while exercising independent judgment to assess and address citizen needs.

Supervision:
Work is conducted under general supervision, with oversight provided to ensure quality and adherence to established protocols. Supervisory staff are available for consultation on complex cases.

Qualifications:
Ideal candidates should possess the following:

  • A high school diploma, supplemented by coursework in business administration and customer relations training.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience, including two (2) years in call center or dispatch operations preferred.
  • Experience in managing technical business processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in cash handling and computerized payment systems is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual skills at a conversational level are preferred.
  • Formal customer service training and experience in the field are advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Eligibility for bonding.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with prior call center experience.
