Key Responsibilities:

Director of Rehabilitation

Position Summary:


The Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) is tasked with overseeing and managing the rehabilitation department to fulfill resident needs, meet the company's financial goals, and adhere to federal and state regulations.

The DOR will accomplish specific objectives related to patient care, employee relations, customer service, and financial performance through effective leadership and management of staff, clients, and referral sources.

This role requires maintaining a professional demeanor, fostering positive interactions and relationships with facilities and clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Delegate patient scheduling and other tasks to staff as necessary.

Supervise, orient, train, evaluate, and mentor department employees to enhance their job performance and uphold high standards of care, in collaboration with the Regional Director of Operations and Human Resources.

May assist in the recruitment process for department personnel.
Ensure compliance with documentation standards among therapists and therapy assistants.
Communicate effectively with administration regarding departmental programs, objectives, risks, and achievements.
Manage revenue and expense controls to align with budgetary requirements.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of MDS information.
Guarantee timely billing for services rendered and completion of required documentation while maintaining service quality.
Adhere to infection control procedures and environmental safety protocols within the facility.
Maintain confidentiality regarding Reliant Rehabilitation, facility, and patient information.
Attend all mandatory meetings, training sessions, and assignments as directed.
Must comply with the position description for the discipline of current licensure.
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English: instructions, correspondence, memos, and reports.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, productive work environment.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Must possess a degree in therapy from an accredited institution; or
If a Rehab Technician, a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, along with

Two (2) years of experience as a Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Speech-Language Pathologist, or Rehab Technician.


Computer Skills:
Proficient in clinical documentation and computer literacy.
Basic skills in internet navigation.

Certificates and Licenses:


Must hold a current and active license as one of the following: Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Speech-Language Pathologist; if the individual is a therapist.

Supervisory

Responsibilities:


Supervises the work of others in the facility, including but not limited to: training, scheduling, coaching, resolving issues, maintaining personnel records, and assisting with disciplinary actions.
