Key Responsibilities:
Director of Rehabilitation
Role Summary:
The Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) is tasked with overseeing and managing the rehabilitation department to fulfill resident needs, adhere to the company's financial objectives, and comply with federal and state regulations.
The DOR will accomplish specific goals related to patient care, employee relations, customer service, and financial performance through effective leadership and management of staff, clients, and referral sources.
The DOR will maintain a professional demeanor, fostering positive interactions and relationships with facilities and clients.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Delegate patient scheduling and other duties to staff as necessary.
Supervise, orient, train, evaluate, and mentor department personnel to enhance their job performance and uphold high standards of patient care quality, in collaboration with the Regional Director of Operations and Human Resources.
May assist in the recruitment process for departmental staff.Ensure compliance with documentation standards among therapists and therapy assistants.
Communicate effectively with administration regarding departmental programs, objectives, risks, and achievements.
Manage revenue and expense controls to meet budgetary targets.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of MDS information.
Guarantee prompt and precise billing for services rendered and completion of required documentation while maintaining service quality.
Adhere to infection control protocols and environmental safety measures within the facility.
Maintain confidentiality regarding Reliant Rehabilitation, facility, and patient information.
Attend all mandatory meetings, training sessions, and assignments as assigned.
Must comply with the position description for the discipline of the current license.
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and reports in English.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, productive work environment.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Must possess a degree in therapy from an accredited institution; or
If a Rehab Technician, a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, along with
Two (2) years of experience as a Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Speech-Language Pathologist, or Rehab Technician.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in clinical documentation and computer literacy.
Basic skills in internet navigation.
Certificates and Licenses:
Must hold a current and active license as one of the following: Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Speech-Language Pathologist; if the individual is a therapist.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the work of others within the facility, including but not limited to: training, scheduling, coaching, resolving issues, maintaining personnel records, and assisting with disciplinary actions.
