Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team at Applied Industrial Technologies. As a key member of our service center team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, expediting orders, and resolving customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process customer orders, including checking stock availability, vendor schedules, and shipping dates
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints, including defects, damages, and lost orders
  • Communicate with customers, service centers, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
  • Manage assigned product lines to maximize service levels within established inventory guidelines
  • Process vendor debit memos and returns to correct vendor shipping errors
  • Perform computer receiving functions and coordinate with Corporate Purchasing to process vendor returns
  • Meet with vendors to become familiar with services and items offered
  • Work from worksheets, inventory lists, part number files, price books, and related information to assist service centers in estimating needs and quoting prices
  • Process service center telephone orders, price and delivery inquiries, and participate in associated servicing and clerical reporting activities
  • Monitor customer returns, investigate cause, and recommend or approve reshipment or credit

Requirements:

  • Equivalent to high school plus specialized training in customer service practices and office functions
  • 1-3 years business or customer service experience
