Key Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Architecture along with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in designing commercial buildings is essential. Professional licensure is preferred, with a strong emphasis on regional healthcare architecture experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of architectural principles and best practices, coupled with the ability to research and stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
  • Familiarity with building regulations and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), with knowledge of FGI and NFPA being advantageous.
  • Proven team management and leadership capabilities, with the ability to guide a team from the design phase through to construction.
  • Strong grasp of building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Exceptional visual awareness and attention to detail, complemented by excellent drawing and design skills.
  • Experience in establishing and nurturing client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with outstanding project management skills to create, monitor, and adhere to project timelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities as necessary, while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Commitment to ensuring that all work is fiscally responsible and adheres to budgetary constraints.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
  • Self-directed and capable of working autonomously.
  • A collaborative team player who communicates respectfully and professionally with colleagues, clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • A positive attitude towards work assignments, teamwork, and organizational goals.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD/Revit and other industry-standard design software, as well as standard office procedures and communication technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, planning, and design of high-quality, functional designs using AutoCAD/Revit for assigned projects, producing professional-quality conceptual plans and associated documentation.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop functional and aesthetically pleasing designs that align with client requirements, integrating engineering elements into a cohesive design for client approval.
  • Assist in the research and coordination of materials and products for project specifications.
  • Troubleshoot emerging issues and devise innovative solutions in partnership with the design team, overseeing necessary revisions and documentation.
  • Prepare and present reports, proposals, transmittals, and permits.
  • Conduct site visits to document conditions and progress during both design and construction phases.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and standards, interfacing with code enforcement agencies and construction officials throughout the permitting and construction phases.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects within established budgets and timelines.
  • Manage submittals, substitution requests, and RFIs during construction as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records for project phases in line with established firm and industry standards.
  • Ensure all project activities are budget-conscious and adhere to established schedules and deadlines.
  • Engage in marketing efforts, proposals, presentations, and new client interviews as required.
