Branch Managers are tasked with ensuring compliance with federal registration requirements as stipulated in the SAFE Act.
Branch Managers must remain updated on operational, product, and system modifications, demonstrating sound risk management decisions. Additionally, they must meet minimum insurance licensing expectations as outlined in the MTS Licensed Banker Academy document.
Branch Managers typically allocate time to servicing existing clients while primarily focusing on business growth through proactive sales and outreach activities.
Branch Managers are responsible for establishing productive partnerships with relevant areas of the bank to ensure timely and accurate resolution of customer needs, service issues, and employee concerns. They take full ownership of customer issues until resolution is achieved.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: Branch Managers generally oversee branch staff directly.
Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree, or alternatively, four years of relevant experience. A minimum of three years in sales and two years in a managerial role or demonstrated leadership capabilities. At the discretion of the Market Manager or branch needs, Life/Accident and Health Insurance licensing is required within 18 months of entering the position. Note: the branch provides training for licensing within six months. M&T Business Banking Specialist certification is required within 18 months of hire. Strong knowledge of Business Banking products, services, and client relationship management is essential. M&T Way Certified and Precision Leadership Certified preferred. Bilingual/Spanish skills are advantageous. Proficiency with common PC software, including Microsoft Office for word processing and spreadsheets, is expected. Familiarity with internet and email is preferred.
Education and Experience Preferred: Proven sales and business development experience with a track record of success. A fundamental understanding of profitability is beneficial. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Demonstrated ability to provide and coach exceptional customer service. Capability to communicate and operate professionally with all levels of personnel and business partners across the organization. Strong knowledge of financial services products is preferred. Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills are crucial.
M&T Bank is dedicated to fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation for our employees. The pay range for this position is $66,000 - $111,000 USD. The specific compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on their unique combination of knowledge, skills, and experience.
