Job Overview

Position Summary

The Lead Transition Specialist plays a pivotal role in guiding the daily educational operations and ensuring the success of our program participants. This position is essential in developing innovative Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs) tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary instructor overseeing daily academic activities.
  • Facilitate the creation of new ELOs in response to specific student requirements.
  • Guide staff in the recruitment process and support students' journey through the program and back to educational settings.
  • Collaborate with Program Administrators and stakeholders to regularly assess and enhance program effectiveness and academic integrity.
  • Establish and uphold clear expectations for student performance.
  • Provide necessary support for work site initiatives.
  • Travel statewide as required for program needs.

  • Proficient in managing multiple priorities and making quick decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Required: Experience in teaching or instructional roles.
  • Experience working with adolescents, at-risk youth, or high school students with disabilities is essential.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a 13-passenger vehicle.
  • Ability to communicate diverse ideas effectively to learners of varying academic backgrounds.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining focus.
  • Commitment to recognizing and fostering the potential in all students.
  • Familiarity with career development assessment tools and processes.
  • Preferred knowledge of special education laws, accommodations, and modifications related to IEPs and 504 plans.
  • Proficient in Google Suite applications including Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Gmail.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with database management systems.
