JOB SUMMARY: The Manager of Clinical Programs, in partnership with the Director of Supportive Housing, delivers extensive leadership and management of the Young Adult Families Scatter-site Housing Initiative. As the head of a comprehensive supportive housing initiative that includes child development, employment/education, and mental health services, the Manager will oversee case managers and other program personnel, manage daily operations, and ensure that all participants in the YAF initiative receive suitable care and the necessary level of services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervision and Leadership

  • Oversee Case Managers and Specialists across the full spectrum of services.
  • Conduct weekly individual supervision and biweekly group supervision for staff and assigned interns.
  • Collaborate with the Director to provide clinical supervision to all housing staff both individually and in group settings.
  • Deliver direct services to participants during staff shortages due to vacancies, leaves, or vacations.

Training and Development

  • Instruct new staff on all aspects of program requirements, responsibilities, and compliance with City and State mandates, documentation, and reporting obligations.

Client and Case Management

  • Ensure that all client assessments and service plans are comprehensive, client-focused, and completed promptly.
  • Conduct a thorough review of weekly client interactions and monthly comprehensive chart evaluations with each case manager.
  • Organize and facilitate all Family Team Conferences.
  • Advocate for client families with relevant agencies and the family courts as necessary.
  • Assist with stabilization, respite, and crisis management, providing on-call services during evenings and weekends when required.

Program Coordination and Participation

  • Engage in departmental and program meetings, including Weekly Team Meetings and Monthly Tenant Meetings.
  • Utilize tools such as safety plans, community meetings, psycho-education groups, team meetings, red flag reviews, treatment planning conferences, and self-care strategies to foster a nonviolent and trauma-sensitive environment.

Mental Health Services

  • Conduct annual and ongoing mental health evaluations for YAF participants.
  • Support all housing programs with Mental Health Evaluations necessary for various assessments and services.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on program needs.
  • Be prepared for duties that may extend beyond regular work hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of casework practices with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including some evenings, with on-call availability as needed, and the capability to provide emergency coverage when required.
  • Commitment to a strength-based, youth development, and trauma-informed approach.

EDUCATION:

  • MINIMUM: Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field required.
  • Current NYS LMSW/LCSW/LMHC/LCAT required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Expertise in working with individuals experiencing psychiatric illnesses, substance use disorders, and histories of homelessness.
  • Experience in community-based work and a solid understanding of community resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Evidence-Based Practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Supported Employment, and Trauma-Informed Care.

PREFERED SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. (Spanish and Haitian-Creole preferred)

LICENSURE: NYS LMSW/LCSW/LMHC/LCAT required.

CERTIFICATION: SIFI Certification preferred.
