Portable Fire Equipment and Kitchen Suppression Systems Technician:

MARTIN MACK FIRE & SAFETY EQUIPMENT is seeking skilled (training available) technicians specializing in portable fire safety equipment and kitchen suppression systems.

Service Technicians are expected to engage positively with clients, conduct inspections, install, and provide estimates for portable fire safety equipment, as well as inspect fire extinguishers and emergency lighting systems.

We are in search of a Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems Technician. This role necessitates the capability to service, inspect, and repair kitchen suppression systems for established commercial clients on a scheduled basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comprehend and apply the principles and standards set forth by NFPA 10, 12, 12A, 17, 17A, and 96.
  • Conduct semi-annual inspections on restaurant suppression systems and portable fire safety equipment.
  • Install restaurant portable fire safety systems as required.
  • Complete inspection documentation and any other necessary paperwork for clients.
  • Ensure proper placement and compliance of fire extinguishers.
  • Identify any systems that do not meet the latest NFPA standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with both existing and new clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly to fire service calls.
  • Operate any assigned vehicle safely and in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Report any exceptions regarding vehicle compliance to the appropriate personnel immediately.
  • Inform clients of any necessary fire code regulations and changes needed at their business premises.
  • Collect payments as required for services rendered.
  • Complete any tasks assigned by the route supervisor in a timely and organized manner.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

If the workload for restaurant system inspections is low, the technician will communicate with the Division Manager and may be assigned to portable fire equipment service calls as directed.

Fill and hydro-test system bottles and dispose of unusable restaurant system bottles at a determined hourly rate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Availability for full-time work, potentially including long hours.
  • Must reside within the service area and be ready for immediate employment.
  • Ability to pass background checks and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience with hand and power tools is advantageous.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Training will be provided.
