Mortgage Loan Closer Job Description

At Georgia United Credit Union, we are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Loan Closer to join our team. As a Mortgage Loan Closer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and seamless closing of all mortgage loan transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with Borrower, Loan Officer, Processor, Title Company, and Underwriting Team to ensure timely and seamless closing of all mortgage loan transactions.
  • Review files received from processing thoroughly to ensure conditions are met for a clear to close.
  • Prepare appropriate documents for members in accordance with loan type programs. Review rate and interest information to ensure accuracy. Communicate final closing figures with members.
  • Perform audit of all documents needed for closing to ensure completeness and accuracy, including rate and interest information, title reports, and lock confirmations.
  • Obtain and sign off on closing conditions to comply with loan underwriting requirements.
  • Schedule closing appointments with branches, attorneys, title companies, real estate agents, and borrowers.
  • Inform members of loan policies and closing procedures. Resolve discrepancies in a timely manner and correct closing issues as needed.
  • Audit all Heloc files pre-funding for accuracy.
  • Perform loan funding tasks, including boarding the loan, posting payments to internal loans, and distributing payoffs to lenders.
  • Provide exceptional member service by answering questions regarding all mortgage loan activities, including preparation of closing documents, reviewing settlement statements, and all signed documentation and reports.
  • Promote and establish strong, positive, and productive working relationships within the organization through commitment to the company's purpose, mission, and core values.

  • Experience - 3 years: Minimum 3 years of mortgage closing experience preferred.
