Key Responsibilities of the Real Estate Financial Specialist:

  • Oversee all financial processes for various properties.
  • Month-end closing responsibilities, which include:
    • Creating and posting journal entries, including reclassifications and accruals.
    • Conducting bank reconciliations.
    • Confirming all general ledger balances.
    • Calculating monthly management fees.
    • Compiling preliminary and final reports along with all associated monthly schedules.
  • Process and post accounts payable batches.
  • Manage check runs.
  • Calculate and record inter-company payments.
  • Handle community mortgage payments and property tax obligations.
  • Prepare annual 1099 forms.
  • Conduct quarterly reporting.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications for the Real Estate Financial Specialist:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of comprehensive accounting experience.
  • High school diploma is mandatory; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Yardi software is advantageous.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
