Position Overview
BELFOR Site Managers focus on either restoration or construction. Candidates for this entry-level management position should possess adequate training and experience in their respective areas. Successful candidates may qualify through internal progression within BELFOR’s technician tracks or through relevant external experience in restoration, cleaning, or construction sectors. This role represents the second phase of the management pathway.
Responsibilities
- Understand all program requirements and be proficient in Xactimate estimates and budgets for assigned TPA program work.
- For construction-focused roles, grasp the project scope, schedule tasks, communicate effectively, ensure safety on-site, and uphold quality standards.
- Develop essential project management skills, including time management, budgeting, scheduling, site supervision, client interaction, communication, quality assurance, safety, documentation, and handling change orders.
- Continuously enhance knowledge of current and historical construction practices.
- Review daily project requirements, document progress, and communicate updates and challenges to management.
- Provide necessary field documentation, including photo logs, graphs, and sketches for various TPA projects.
- Perform all tasks related to prior Intermediate Fire Damage Specialist, Intermediate Water Damage Specialist, or Intermediate Carpenter roles.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety and maintenance checks, ensuring cleanliness and serviceability.
- Maintain a keen attention to detail.
- Adhere to BELFOR standards for safeguarding client properties.
- Exhibit a thorough understanding of customer service principles and practices.
- Work efficiently under time constraints to meet specific deadlines.
- Be available for night and weekend work as needed and travel occasionally.
- Accurately report hours worked and resources utilized in a timely manner.
- Participate in BELFOR-sponsored operations and safety training as required.
- Oversee and perform residential and light commercial projects.
- Continue training until demonstrating the ability to complete projects on schedule and within budget while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- For construction roles, plan, coordinate, and supervise employees and subcontractors throughout all project phases.
- Interpret and manage blueprints.
- Be responsible for projects valued up to $150K.
- Comply with local building codes and regulations.
- For restoration roles, lead small teams of BELFOR personnel and temporary workers.
- Manage projects valued up to $50K.
- Attend BELFOR-approved training sessions in areas where experience is limited.
- Supervise multiple teams across various projects simultaneously.
- Select appropriate disposal methods and secure liability releases for disposed items.
- Hold a current IICRC ASD certification for water damage-related work.
- Complete all required BELFOR New Hire Coursework.
- Be certified to operate a Hi-Lo forklift.
- Have completed at least 18 months as an Intermediate Water Damage Specialist, Intermediate Carpenter, or Intermediate Fire Damage Specialist, or possess similar industry experience.
- Be eligible to operate a vehicle in accordance with BELFOR's vehicle policy.
- Exhibit a sense of urgency, professionalism, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- Demonstrate fluency in the English language.
- Frequent lifting of items exceeding 50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting of items from 41 lbs and above, with assistance (up to 50% of the time).
- Ability to access and navigate tight spaces.
- Endure sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling.
- Capable of using mobile devices for data collection and time tracking.
