This position works in tandem with the Global Capital Projects team, alongside site EHS and facilities managers, to ensure these protocols are seamlessly integrated into every project while tracking implementation and performance indicators. As a vital player in refining construction management methodologies, the individual will be tasked with fostering superior health and safety outcomes by influencing contractor selection, supervising safety practices throughout all construction stages, and acknowledging exemplary contractors upon project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Upholding the Global Safety in Construction Standard to define essential expectations and guarantee alignment with principal stakeholders across all project phases. Collaborating with the Global Capital Projects team to ensure health and safety mandates are effectively woven into project management execution and incorporated into new construction designs. Partnering with the Global Workplace Strategy team to ensure health and safety mandates are integrated into workplace development. Ensuring all current and proposed construction initiatives embed and sustain effective and suitable health and safety controls throughout all project stages (i.e., planning, contract initiation, construction, commissioning, project completion, etc.). Formulating and executing construction performance metrics for health and safety; capturing and reporting performance to relevant Boston Scientific leadership. Establishing a health and safety compliance framework for all construction project sites; conducting site performance evaluations to ensure Boston Scientific standards are upheld during all project phases. Implementing safety assurance protocols for the handover of all construction projects upon completion; establishing procedures for any health and safety corrective measures. Conducting site compliance assurance assessments and ensuring necessary corrective actions are managed to effective resolution to maintain adherence to standards and regulations throughout the project lifecycle. Participating in Global Capital Projects meetings to represent health and safety requirements and advise on necessary actions; supporting EHS managers with ongoing construction activities at their sites. Monitoring the health and safety performance of key construction contractors to ensure a process for approving and restricting contractors is in place.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in any engineering discipline. At least 5 years of experience in managing standard health and safety concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction sector. Proficient understanding of construction regulatory frameworks and experience interacting with regulatory bodies. Proven experience in leading and influencing cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. Willingness to travel up to 30% (both domestically and internationally).

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong communication and presentation abilities; capacity to collaborate with construction site teams and senior management. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
