Job Summary:

Regency at Shelby Township is seeking a skilled Infection Prevention Specialist to join our team. As an Infection Prevention Specialist, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing systems to prevent or control infections among residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor healthcare-associated infections and assess infection prevention problems to make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Initiate, review, and revise infection prevention policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct outbreak investigations and initiate control measures to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
  • Report communicable diseases to the relevant authorities as required by law.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for staff on infection prevention and control best practices.
  • Collaborate with department heads and physicians to improve care and reduce the risk of infections.
  • Initiate follow-up on employee/resident exposures to communicable diseases and ensure timely reporting.

Requirements:

  • RN or LPN licensure in the state.
  • Current CPR certification.
