GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The Principal Business Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in the design, management, and enhancement of intricate business applications, particularly focusing on Supply Chain Management (SCM), Inventory (INV), Warehouse Management (WMS), and Supply Chain Planning (SCP).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilize insights and initiative to influence business partners towards adopting more efficient and competitive business processes.
  • Conduct feasibility studies leading to business proposals that encompass alternative strategies, costs, benefits, resource needs, task dependencies, and timelines.
  • Analyze and assess existing or proposed systems, collaborating with the Delivery team to revise computer programs, systems, and related procedures for data processing.
  • Establish and evaluate service levels for assigned applications, identifying opportunities for enhancement in service levels experienced by the business.
  • Define personal work plans and those of others; coordinate project status reporting and conduct user/team status meetings.
ADDITIONAL TASKS:

Document complex user requirements, business process flows, functional specifications, and business requirements necessary for system development or modification. Write or validate QA/UAT test scripts and facilitate communication between developers and users.

  • Complete assigned projects, including personal tasks and coordinating the tasks of internal and external personnel to achieve results efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Prepare program specifications and diagrams, including process flows, data flows, and logical data models.
  • Evaluate application software packages in SCM, Inventory, and WMS, providing recommendations to management.
  • Analyze discrepancies between current operations and approved requirements for assigned applications, identifying necessary modifications to align operations with approved requirements.
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:

Foster and maintain positive relationships with business customers and IT team members to ensure successful project completion and ongoing operational efficiency. Communicate effectively and set appropriate expectations for projects and system components.

PRODUCTION SUPPORT:
  • Manage critical production support utilizing service management tools and procedures for tracking user communications and service level management.
  • Review end-user training documents and guides, coordinating hands-on training for end-users on various aspects of IT Supply Chain applications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in business systems.
  • Extensive knowledge in various business areas, particularly in Supply Chain Management and Warehouse Management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in implementation projects, delivering functional solutions in at least two of the following modules: Warehouse Management, Inventory, Supply Chain Planning, Order Management, Maintenance, Costing, and Purchasing.
  • Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficient in systems analysis tasks, including logic flow charts, decision trees, work process flow analysis, data flow analysis, logical data modeling, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong motivational skills to drive others towards achieving business results.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Experience with leading Supply Chain Planning solutions is preferred.
  • Effective communication and writing skills are essential.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, communicate verbally, and navigate around equipment. Must occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.

WORK HOURS & TRAVEL:

Willingness to work beyond standard hours as needed for system failures or upgrades. Ability to travel as required.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems is required.
