As a Patient Access Coordinator, your role encompasses ensuring the accuracy of all front-end patient access and registration processes, contributing to exceptional patient care and a smooth revenue cycle. Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately gather patient demographics, confirm identity, and verify insurance coverage, utilizing various communication methods (phone, letters, face-to-face).
  • Support Monument Health's strategic goals by adhering to Revenue Cycle guidelines and participating in quality assurance initiatives.
  • Demonstrate understanding of payer information, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  • Handle point-of-service collections, including prepayments and outstanding balances, while ensuring daily cash drawer reconciliation.
  • Provide patients with cost estimates for scheduled services and escalate financial clearance needs as necessary.
  • Educate patients on regulatory compliance by distributing and obtaining required forms and signatures.
  • Perform business office duties, including managing incoming communications and departmental correspondence.
  • Deliver exceptional service by assisting patients with way-finding and reception duties, ensuring a pleasant experience.
  • Facilitate patient scheduling and check-out processes, managing wait lists and recall lists as needed.
  • Maintain registration-related work queues and resolve errors promptly.
  • Possess working knowledge of electronic medical records and educate patients on their purpose and regulations.
  • Address account inquiries and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Comply with all current and future policies and procedures, reporting directly to the supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Experience: 1+ years in Customer Service; 1+ years in Patient Relations; 1+ years in Medical Patient Accounts/Financial Services
Physical Requirements:
Medium work - exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Ability to work designated shift lengths, including night shifts or irregular hours.
