Job Description

We're seeking a seasoned professional to lead our sourcing and product development efforts. As the Head of Sourcing and Product Development, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of product development, from concept to delivery. This includes building strong relationships with our existing factory network, sourcing new partners, and developing a comprehensive product development roadmap.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the product lifecycle, from development to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of high-quality products.
  • Establish a product development roadmap that accelerates development while reducing costs and mitigating supply-chain risks.
  • Develop a sourcing strategy, evaluating current suppliers and sourcing new ones to meet our aesthetic and quality standards.
  • Partner with design and merchandising teams to deliver styles that meet our brand standards.
  • Develop a manufacturing plan to ensure production capabilities align with our sales plan.
  • Optimize cost of goods and drive margin targets through effective costing and pricing strategies.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring on-time and accurate delivery, and building a robust QC program.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to maintain strong vendor relationships and troubleshoot issues.
  • Lead the production team to develop new products and continuously improve existing ones, resulting in on-time, on-budget products that delight our customers.
  • Manage the movement of goods, freight costs, and our 3PL partner to ensure timely receipt of finished goods.
  • Provide training, development, and mentorship to the product team.
About You
  • 10-15+ years of experience in product development, production, and sourcing, with experience leading teams in these roles.
  • Strong experience in managing factory relationships with an existing network of overseas suppliers.
  • Experience with raw material sourcing and finished goods manufacturing in home, gifts, soft goods, and/or accessories.
  • Experience with QC/QA strategy and ability to build processes and measure QC success.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • An excellent project manager with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong passion for people and a strong instinct for managing and developing talent.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and eye for quality.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to execute and build scalable processes and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of import and export industry terminology, documentation processes, and procedures.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed.
  • A dog lover, of course.
