Role Overview

This position is integral to the advancement and operation of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle designed for reliable transport of personnel and cargo to various orbits, including low-Earth orbit and beyond. The first stage of this vehicle is fully reusable, with a design that prioritizes human capability from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of architectures aimed at automating the development, testing, verification, and validation processes for our launch vehicle control applications.
  • Engage in hands-on development to create tools that streamline design, analysis, and verification, enhancing engineering productivity.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams to boost throughput while ensuring the high quality of control applications.
  • Drive innovations in our model-based design framework and take on responsibilities for autonomous control applications.
  • Support testing teams to gather insights that will inform the evolution of our development framework.

Reporting Structure

You will report directly to the Director of the Autonomy Architecture team, playing a pivotal role in shaping our technical direction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Advanced skills in Simulink development.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in avionics operations, launch systems, aerospace, or satellite operations.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and executing integrated tests for launch vehicles.
  • Proven expertise in avionics analysis and operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster trust and maintain professional relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in avionics operations, launch systems, aerospace, or satellite operations.
  • Experience in engineering leadership and mentorship.
  • Project management experience.
  • Background in developing rockets, missiles, or advanced aerospace systems.
  • Experience with aerospace vehicle operations and testing.

Compensation

The compensation range for applicants in Washington is $136,520.00.
