Position Summary: Under the guidance of the Director of Health & Wellness/Rehab, the Speech Language Pathologist will implement tailored speech therapy programs, which may include individual and group sessions. The goal is to evaluate, treat, and develop comprehensive care plans that support residents in achieving their highest potential in communication and daily functioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct care to residents, assessing their functional communication needs and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
  • Design and execute individualized care plans based on thorough assessments, involving relevant stakeholders in the process.
  • Adhere to established standards of care while conducting therapy sessions.
  • Maintain effective communication with fellow professionals and support staff to ensure positive resident outcomes.
  • Comply with organizational policies, safety protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Document evaluations, treatment objectives, and progress, ensuring timely updates and maintaining accurate records.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through educational opportunities and workshops, staying informed on the latest practices in the field.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, promoting the importance of speech therapy within the community.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a degree from an accredited speech therapy program and hold an active license from the State Board of Speech Language Pathology Examiners. Ongoing professional development and compliance with local health regulations are essential.

Skills and Attributes: A genuine interest in supporting the elderly and disabled, along with strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a commitment to ethical practices are vital. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work collaboratively within a team environment.
