Experience Requirement: At least five (5) years in Critical Item Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Maintainability Analysis, and Reliability Program Capability and Maturity assessments within the aerospace sector (equivalent education and experience may be considered)

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering is required; Master's or PhD is preferred.

Role Overview:

The Senior Reliability Engineer is integral to the advancement of eVTOL urban air mobility products and service solutions. This role demands a seasoned expert skilled in defining and implementing processes in accordance with industry standards, reliability prediction calculations, and performance metrics within a dynamic product development framework. The position collaborates closely with engineering teams and the Strategy Group to ensure that requirements align with customer and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate design and development through comprehensive requirements documentation, redundancy assessments, and proactive reliability consultations to ensure adherence to design standards.
  • Review system block diagrams, interface control documents, and electrical schematics for compliance and accuracy against operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with the systems safety team to develop functional hazard assessments (FHAs).
  • Assist Design & Development Engineers in identifying risks early using tools such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Physics of Failure methodologies, and Analysis + Test Data Reviews, coordinating mitigation strategies to enhance design reliability.
  • Contribute to the Design Requirements Process by developing and decomposing Reliability and Maintainability requirements for aircraft systems and components.
  • Participate in Development Milestone Reviews and support the transition process with Quality Engineering.
  • Manage the Qualification & Traceability matrix alongside Requirements and FMEA documentation.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for issues identified during R&D and Qualification testing.
  • Lead FMECA evaluations and predictive analyses.
  • Conduct predictive reliability analyses to assess the probability of loss of control and asset loss, utilizing specifications and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in conjunction with FMEA and FMECA.
  • Perform Weibull analysis for Reliability Performance Reports.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure all inspection and acceptance test criteria are documented.
  • Conduct regular metrics reviews to identify key issues in deployed products.
  • Propose and oversee corrective actions to enhance data performance trends.
  • Collaborate with the PMO organization to execute the build plan.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering is required; Master's or PhD is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Critical Item Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Maintainability Analysis, and Reliability Program Capability and Maturity assessments in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with Advanced Hardware Systems and Electrical Systems.
  • Experience establishing the Reliability Engineering framework for a product.
  • Familiarity with ANSI/AIAA S-102 and/or DOD Instruction Mission Assurance standards.
  • Proficient in ARP4761 methods, including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), FMEA/FEMES, and Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs).
  • Experience with predictive analysis and Weibull analysis.
  • Familiarity with Relyence, JIRA, and similar software tools.
  • Understanding of Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) design and implementation.
  • Experience supporting Reliability Testing to validate MTBF/MTBUR and Dispatch Interruption Rates requirements.
  • Strong technical writing skills for developing standards and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work independently within time constraints.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-217 or DOD RAM Guide.
  • Hands-on experience with Relyence Software.
  • Experience with HALT, ESS, and HASS methodologies.
  • Experience with electric propulsion systems.
  • Experience with FAA or EASA certification processes.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies.
  • Background in Aircraft, Spacecraft, or UAV Operations.
