Key Responsibilities- Repair and Maintenance: Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and operate efficiently.
- Inspection and Testing: Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Assembly and Installation: Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Cleaning and Lubrication: Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Dismantling and Repair: Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, forklifts, hand tools, and power tools.
- Planning and Scheduling: Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
- Reporting and Communication: Effectively and efficiently submit part orders and repair reports.
- Adjustment and Calibration: Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools and metering equipment.
- Operational Support: Operate cutting torches or welding equipment.
- Experience: Five (5) years on the job experience as a machine mechanic is REQUIRED.
- Education: High School or equivalent. Specialized: Basic electrical skills, basic mechanical skills, and basic carpentry skills.
- Specialized Knowledge: Volt meters, ammeters, ohmmeters, basic hand tools, (electric saw, electric drill, welder, etc.), and forklift driver's license. Environmental experience is a plus.
