Contract Duration: 6 months

Compensation: $85-120 per hour

Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Person

Experience Requirement: At least five (5) years in Critical Item Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Maintainability Analysis, and Reliability Program Capability and Maturity assessments, particularly in the aerospace sector (a combination of education and experience may be acceptable)

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering is required; a Master's or PhD is preferred.

Role Overview:

The Senior Reliability Engineer is integral to the advancement of eVTOL urban air mobility products and services. This role demands a seasoned expert proficient in establishing and implementing processes that align with industry standards such as SAE ARP4754A and SAE 4761. Responsibilities include reliability prediction calculations, management, and performance assessment within a dynamic product development framework. Collaboration with engineering teams and the Strategy Team is essential to ensure that requirements align with both customer and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate design and development by documenting requirements, evaluating redundancy, and ensuring compliance with design standards.
  • Review system diagrams, interface control documents, and electrical schematics for accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the systems safety team to develop functional hazard assessments (FHAs).
  • Work closely with Design & Development Engineers to identify risks early using methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and Physics of Failure.
  • Support the Design Requirements Process by developing and decomposing Reliability and Maintainability requirements for aircraft systems.
  • Participate in Development Milestone Reviews and assist in the production hand-off process with Quality Engineering.
  • Manage the Qualification & Traceability matrix alongside Requirements and FMEA documentation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for issues identified during testing.
  • Lead FMECA evaluations and predictive analyses.
  • Perform predictive reliability analysis to assess the probability of loss of control and calculate MTBF.
  • Conduct Weibull analysis for Reliability Performance Reports.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure compliance with inspection and acceptance testing requirements.
  • Host regular metrics reviews to identify key problem areas.
  • Propose and implement corrective actions to enhance data performance trends.
  • Collaborate with the PMO organization to execute build plans.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering required; Master's or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with Advanced Hardware Systems and Electrical Systems.
  • Proficient in establishing Reliability Engineering frameworks for products.
  • Familiarity with ANSI/AIAA S-102 and DOD Instruction Mission Assurance standards.
  • Knowledge of ARP4761 methods, including Fault Tree Analysis and Reliability Block Diagrams.
  • Experience with predictive analysis and Weibull analysis.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as Cameo, Relyence, and JIRA.
  • Understanding of Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS).
  • Experience with Reliability Testing to validate MTBF and Dispatch Interruption Rates.
  • Strong technical writing skills for developing standards and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MIL-HDBK-217 or DOD RAM Guide.
  • Hands-on experience with Relyence Software.
  • Experience with HALT, ESS, and HASS testing.
  • Familiarity with electric propulsion vehicles.
  • Experience with FAA or EASA certification processes.
  • Experience with regulatory agencies.
  • Background in Aircraft, Spacecraft, or UAV Operations.
