Job Details

We are seeking a seasoned professional with a strong background in Ruby on Rails, React, REST APIs, and Postgres. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code.
  2. Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
  3. Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
  4. Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
  5. Assist in the development and maintenance of our APIs using RESTful practices.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  7. Participate in code reviews to maintain a high-quality codebase.
  8. Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle - from concept and design to testing.
  9. Develop and maintain data storage solutions, primarily using Postgres.
  10. Create and maintain software documentation.
  11. Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development with at least 3 years of experience specifically in Ruby on Rails.
  3. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
  4. Proven experience with RESTful API integration.
  5. Knowledge of server-side templating languages such as Liquid, Slim, etc.
  6. Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors such as SCSS, based on project requirements.
  7. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (e.g., Git, Mercurial or SVN).
  8. Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment.
  9. Proven experience with Postgres or similar relational databases.
  10. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  11. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  12. Ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
  13. Must be proactive, self-directed, detailed, and organized.
