Position Overview

The Travel CVOR Technologist plays a crucial role in the surgical team, ensuring the Operating Room is prepared for procedures while prioritizing patient safety.

Certification Requirements
  • BLS Certification: Must be certified through the American Heart Association only.
Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all minimum qualifications outlined below.
  • Do not submit candidates with expiring licenses or certifications during the assignment period.
  • Experience in cardiac, thoracic, and cardiovascular procedures is essential, including heart and lung transplant experience. This experience must be detailed in the resume.
  • Prepare the Operating Room before surgeries, assist surgeons during procedures, and manage surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Contribute to patient safety as an integral member of the surgical team.
  • Possess the necessary knowledge and skills to care for patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Qualifications
  • Permanent residence must be outside a 50-mile radius of Madison, with this information included in the traveler's profile.
  • A minimum of two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience is required, with a strong focus on cardiac, thoracic, and transplant experience.
  • Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma Center or a similar facility is necessary.
  • Prior travel experience is highly preferred.
  • Completion of a surgical technologist program or two years of experience in a Surgical Technologist role may be accepted in lieu of program completion.
Scheduling Information
  • Travelers may be assigned to float to various units, including those working with children up to one year of age, based on competency and experience.
  • Shifts may be scheduled across multiple units, depending on staffing needs.
  • If the primary unit no longer requires services, shifts will be reassigned to ensure contract completion.
