Position Overview

The Traveling CVOR Technologist plays a crucial role in the surgical team, ensuring the Operating Room is prepared for procedures and maintaining patient safety throughout the surgical process.

Certification Requirements
  • BLS Certification: Must be certified through the American Heart Association only.
Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure all minimum qualifications are met for consideration.
  • Submit only candidates with valid licenses and certifications for the entire assignment duration.
  • Document extensive experience in cardiac, thoracic, and cardiovascular procedures, including heart and lung transplants.
  • Prepare the Operating Room, assist surgeons during procedures, and manage surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Promote patient safety as an integral member of the surgical team.
  • Possess the necessary knowledge and skills to care for patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.
Requirements
  • Permanent residence must be outside a 50-mile radius of Madison.
  • Minimum of two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience is required, with a focus on cardiac, thoracic, and transplant experience.
  • Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or a hospital of similar size is essential.
  • Prior travel experience is highly desirable.
  • Completion of a surgical technologist program or two years of experience in a Surgical Technologist role may be accepted in lieu of program completion.
Schedule Information
  • Travelers may float to various units, including those working with children up to one year of age, based on competency and experience.
  • Shifts may be scheduled across multiple units depending on staffing needs.
  • If the primary unit no longer requires services, shifts will be reassigned to ensure contract completion.
