Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist with expertise in cardiovascular and thoracic procedures. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and supporting surgical teams during operations.

Certification Requirements
  • BLS Certification: Must be certified through the American Heart Association.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the Operating Room prior to surgical procedures.
  • Assist surgeons during operations, ensuring a safe environment for patients.
  • Manage surgical instruments and supplies effectively.
  • Provide care for patients throughout the surgical process.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the surgical team to promote patient safety.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in caring for patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Job Requirements
  • Permanent address must be outside a 50-mile radius of Madison.
  • Minimum of two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience, particularly in cardiac, thoracic, and transplant surgeries.
  • Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or a similar facility is essential.
  • Prior travel experience is highly desirable.
  • Completion of a surgical technologist program or two years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of program completion.
Schedule Information
  • Travelers may float to various units, including those working with children up to one year of age, based on competency and experience.
  • Shifts may be scheduled across multiple units depending on staffing needs.
  • If the primary unit's needs change, shifts will be reassigned to ensure contract completion.
