Position Overview

The role of the Travel CVOR Technologist is crucial in ensuring the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures. This position requires a skilled professional who is adept at preparing the operating room and providing essential support during surgeries.

Certification Requirements
  • Certification in BLS through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room prior to surgical procedures.
  • Assist the surgeon during operations, ensuring patient safety throughout.
  • Manage surgical instruments and supplies effectively.
  • Provide care for patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.
Qualifications
  • A permanent address must be outside a 50-mile radius of Madison.
  • A minimum of two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience is required, with a focus on cardiac, thoracic, and transplant experience.
  • Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or a hospital of similar size is essential.
  • Prior travel experience is highly desirable.
  • Completion of a surgical technologist program or two years of relevant experience may substitute for program completion.
Work Schedule
  • Travelers may float to various units, including those working with children under one year of age, based on competency and experience.
  • Shifts may be scheduled across multiple units depending on staffing needs.
  • If the primary unit no longer requires services, shifts will be reassigned to ensure contract completion.
