Job Summary:

Digital Prospectors is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic to join our team in the Production Design, Verification, & Validation group (GAD5). As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will perform work requiring knowledge of electro-dynamic and electro-hydraulic vibration shakers, thermal chambers, vacuum chambers, centrifuges, high-speed cameras, magnetic field testing, motion control systems, and other environmental test equipment with limited or no supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow standard operating procedures and test procedures for handling and testing of inertial equipment throughout the lab.
  • Support shipping, receiving, tracking, moving, and inspection of guidance systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all guidance logistics activities.
  • Perform data collection utilizing portable vibration controls, data acquisition systems, and digital recorders per the SOP with limited or no supervision.
  • Maintain test logs and record data during test operations of the test cell.
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed.
  • Escort personnel and contractors, as required.
  • Assist in the repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Maintain the laboratories organization and cleanliness.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a two-year technical school with at least 5 years of applicable experience.
  • Ability to configure and operate Unholtz-Dickie Apex vibration controllers and Precision Filters products with the assistance of technical personnel.
  • Ability to configure and operate Acutronic controller products with the assistance of technical personnel.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude for torque wrenches and other installation tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on team operated test equipment.
  • Ability to complete tasks on schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to carefully document their own work consistent with work unit policy in handwritten form or using common computer-based software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of vibration, shock, acoustic, pressure, linear and angular acceleration, and thermal theory is a plus.
  • Key certifications to support the facility operations (i.e., Facility Casualty certified, Crane certified, and ESD certified).

Clearance Requirements:

  • An active Secret government security clearance is required.
  • Candidates must be a United States Citizen as the laboratory is a cleared facility.
