Position Title: Equipment Maintenance Specialist

Overview:

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of manufacturing equipment by executing maintenance tasks aimed at reducing downtime and enhancing reliability. This position involves performing system upkeep, diagnosing equipment issues, executing repairs, and identifying areas for operational enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fosters a safe working atmosphere by adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, along with company safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA safety standards.
  • Conducts routine equipment inspections.
  • Utilizes lockout/tag-out procedures effectively.
  • Collaborates with the Line Leader to monitor, plan, and implement changeovers.
  • Maintains precise and timely documentation, including changeover logs, cleaning records, machine maintenance logs, and departmental reports.
  • Reports equipment downtime while assigned to a production line.
  • Communicates any equipment malfunctions or irregularities to the Maintenance Manager or General Manager.
  • Oversees the maintenance of production machinery and general facilities.
  • Coordinates with external service providers as necessary.
  • Procures parts and manages inventory levels as needed.
  • Handles machine setup and disassembly.
  • Diagnoses and resolves equipment issues.
  • Conducts troubleshooting on electrical control panels.
  • Manages equipment installation and removal.
  • Performs equipment repairs.
  • Engages with team members on various projects.
  • Organizes and prioritizes maintenance tasks.
  • Implements preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Ensures workspaces comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Conducts Preventative Maintenance (PM) on designated production equipment.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborates effectively within a team setting.
  • Adheres to all company safety regulations, operational guidelines, and maintenance protocols.
  • Maintains consistent attendance and follows the department schedule.
  • Completes special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance technician role, preferably within an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics.

Work Environment:

The physical demands of this role require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Employees may experience extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, or kneeling. The work environment is characterized by moderate to high noise levels, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
