Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
The Aerospace Dynamics Engineer will be tasked with the design of aircraft configurations and conducting aerodynamic evaluations utilizing both high-fidelity and low-fidelity modeling techniques. This role will also involve supporting wind tunnel testing and analyzing flight test data to assess aerodynamic performance.

Under the guidance of the Aerodynamic Design and Analysis Group, the selected candidate will collaborate with a team focused on the development of innovative air-vehicle systems and conducting cutting-edge research in aerodynamics.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Designing aircraft configurations and performing aerodynamic assessments.
  • Conducting aerodynamic evaluations using panel methods and vortex lattice codes.
  • Executing high-fidelity simulations with RANS and URANS software.
  • Providing design concepts and conducting preliminary and detailed analyses of aero-propulsion systems.
  • Collaborating with team members to develop next-generation air-vehicles for various applications.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess a BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of four years of experience in modeling and analyzing advanced air-vehicle systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C++ is essential.

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degrees (Masters or Ph.D.) are highly regarded, along with experience in wind tunnel testing and high-fidelity aerodynamic design tools. Familiarity with CAD tools and flight control design is advantageous.

Physical Requirements
The role may require up to 10% travel.
