Generac Power Systems is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to be an integral part of our growing hardware division. As a key technical authority, you will work closely with design engineers, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure the effective development and documentation of designs that prioritize cost-effectiveness, reliability, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist internal engineering and production teams in comprehending product manufacturing and the capabilities of manufacturing partners.
  • Offer expertise in component, tooling, and process design across various manufacturing techniques.
  • Oversee the resolution of functional and quality challenges with suppliers during the production phase.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on Design for Excellence (DFx) to refine designs based on supplier insights.
  • Partner with contract manufacturing engineers to improve the efficiency of high-volume production lines.
  • Lead the resolution of manufacturing obstacles and support new product launches.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in a comparable environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience in product manufacturing, tooling design, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with PCBA Design software such as Altium.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D modeling applications.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Experience managing changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management software.
Physical Requirements:

The role involves communication, auditory engagement, and manipulation of objects. Activities such as standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting are necessary. The position also requires extended periods of computer-based work. Some travel may be required.
