Position Overview:
This role is integral to our Manufacturing Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Senior Manufacturing Director. The selected Engineer will focus on enhancing manufacturing efficiency and overseeing capital projects across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Process Optimization (70%)**
- Formulate and execute strategies to minimize yield loss.
- Develop and revise process maps for each machine, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks.
- Analyze delays and implement corrective measures.
- Foster collaboration among departments to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Engage with operators on the production floor to promote continuous improvement.
- Connect with engineers across all plants to exchange best practices.
2. **Quality Assurance (10%)**
- Monitor laboratory results to ensure product quality.
- Participate in quality audits and meetings.
3. **Safety Leadership (10%)**
- Identify and mitigate hazards related to plant equipment.
- Oversee safety conditions and behaviors.
- Engage in safety audits.
4. **Capital Project Management (10%)**
- Identify opportunities for improvement.
- Organize teams for research initiatives.
- Draft Capital Expenditure Requests (CER).
- Coordinate and execute projects.
Qualifications:
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
- Proven problem-solving skills with sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Capability to plan effectively over a 30-day timeframe.
- Proficiency in balancing quality, productivity, and cost.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Strong team player.
**Education and Experience:**
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, industrial, or paper science).
- Minimum of 3 years in a continuous process manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in automated factory systems.
