The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) stands out as one of the most dynamic sectors within Caterpillar. Our focus is on customer satisfaction and facilitating their journey towards a better future. We engage in every aspect of the service value chain, from procurement to design, manufacturing, and distribution.

In your role as the Operations Manager for our distribution center, you will lead and mentor a team to achieve operational objectives, including budgetary and cost management goals.

This position oversees daily shipping operations across various shifts in a large-scale facility.

You will guide a dedicated team of approximately three hundred and fifty (350) employees, including fourteen (14) operational leaders.

The distribution center plays a vital role in supporting our customers globally, serving as one of the largest facilities in our network.

Our mission is to ensure timely and efficient delivery of parts to our customers, enhancing their operational capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting a culture of safety among team members and ensuring compliance with safety policies.
  • Overseeing operational activities to meet safety, scheduling, and performance standards.
  • Driving improvements in operational performance while implementing safety, cost, and quality control measures.
  • Monitoring adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Utilizing analytical tools to anticipate demand and manage capacity effectively.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient in quality management methods and capable of fostering an environment that meets organizational quality objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify root causes of issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to plan and organize tasks and resources efficiently.
  • Knowledge of performance management techniques to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with organizational standards and procedures in manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
  • Experience with EWM/SAP systems.
