The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is recognized for its forward-thinking approach within Caterpillar. PSLD oversees Aftermarket Parts Distribution, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement, and the design and production of Wear Components and Maintenance Components.


As the Operations Manager for our Distribution Center, you will lead and mentor a team to achieve operational objectives, particularly in relation to budget and cost management.

This role encompasses the daily shipping operations across various shifts in a large facility.

You will manage a high-performing workforce of approximately three hundred and fifty (350) employees, including fourteen (14) operational leaders.

The Distribution Center is crucial in supporting our global customer base as one of the largest facilities within Caterpillar.

We aim to deliver the right parts to our customers swiftly, efficiently, and safely.

Our mission is to ensure timely and accurate parts distribution, covering a range of functions from demand forecasting and inventory oversight to dealer order support and logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:


Foster a culture of safety among team members, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and actively engaging staff to promote a robust safety environment.

Oversee operational activities, ensuring that safety standards, schedules, and performance metrics are met while optimizing resource utilization.

Drive enhancements in overall operational performance and implement mechanisms for safety, cost efficiency, and quality assurance.

Monitor adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

Utilize analytical tools and techniques to anticipate demand and ensure adequate capacity.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management as necessary.

Qualifications:

Quality Management:

Proficient in quality management methodologies and tools, with the ability to cultivate an environment that aligns with the organization's quality objectives.


Analytical Skills:

Skilled in analytical techniques that facilitate effective problem-solving; capable of identifying root causes and developing alternative solutions.


Planning and Organization:

Experienced in planning and organizing tasks and resources; adept at structuring work systematically to achieve objectives efficiently.


Performance Management:

Knowledgeable in performance management strategies; capable of applying the organization's performance systems to enhance individual and team performance.


Manufacturing Operations:
Familiar with the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production processes.

Safety Standards:

Knowledgeable in safety regulations and practices; able to identify hazards and implement necessary safety measures.


Manufacturing Compliance:

Familiar with organizational standards and procedures in manufacturing; capable of guiding and monitoring compliance with established processes.


Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).

Experience with EWM/SAP systems.

Background in Project Management.

Experience in Lean Operations.
