Position Overview

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Slingshot AI, you will engage in a pioneering role that merges product development, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. Your responsibilities will include orchestrating in-house trained language models, overseeing data collection and curation, evaluating model performance, creating meticulously crafted supervised fine-tuning datasets, developing preference optimization datasets, and conducting model unit tests. Your contributions will enhance our end-user product, enriching user experience through your expertise in models, data, and orchestration techniques. Potential projects may involve LLM memory, data manipulation using language models, enhancing our voice-to-voice user experience, or refining our RAG stack.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a product team possessing strong machine learning expertise, alongside conversational designers, writers, and mental health professionals, all united in delivering exceptional value to our users.
  • Engage with a modern technology stack that includes ML in Python, web development in React/Typescript, backend solutions in Kotlin, and mobile applications in Flutter. While prior knowledge of all these technologies is not mandatory, a willingness to learn is essential.

About You
  • You have successfully launched full-stack applications from inception to completion and possess a design-oriented mindset.
  • You are proficient in various general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Kotlin, Swift, Typescript, Rust, etc.) and have a keen eye for quality code, regardless of the technology stack.
  • You thrive as a generalist and team player, eager to take ownership of your projects, enjoy tackling complex challenges, and are motivated by the goal of creating a world-class product.
  • You are capable of delivering results rapidly, as our pace is exceptionally fast.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of full-stack development experience.
  • Proficiency in React and Typescript.
  • Open to candidates based in various locations.
