Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing exceptional patient service, ensuring accurate and efficient registration and scheduling processes, and maintaining compliance with all policies and procedures at Metro Community Health Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, demonstrating a high level of skill in building relationships and resolving issues.
  • Collect and verify patient registration data, including insurance information, and create new patient charts within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Collect co-pays, payments, and balances, as required by office policies, and apply patient payments to balances in the computer system.
  • Check patients in and out for scheduled appointments, answer incoming calls, and triage calls within the department.
  • Maintain accurate patient demographics and insurance information, and update patient information as necessary in the computer system.
  • Verify patient insurance information using online tools or by contacting insurance companies, and maintain compliance with all policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA required.
  • Successful completion of a medical receptionist or related program, or 1 year of medical office experience.
Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls, and talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
