Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at Highmark Health. As a key member of our Patient Access team, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient experiences and efficient access to our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Preregistration: Conduct scheduling and preregistration functions, validate patient demographic data, and identify and verify medical benefits.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance information through payor contacts, identify payor authorization/referral requirements, and provide documentation and follow-up as needed.
  • Financial Clearance: Identify patient financial responsibilities, calculate estimates, collect liabilities, and post payment transactions as appropriate.
  • Patient Experience: Deliver positive patient experiences, cooperate with patients, AHN leadership and staff, physician offices, and designated external agencies or vendors.
  • Productivity and Quality: Maintain focus on attaining productivity standards, recommend innovative approaches for enhancing performance and productivity, and adhere to AHN organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED; or one – three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Two previous years of related experience, preferably within a medical setting, financial services setting, and/or a demanding customer service environment.
  • Skills: Experience operating a PC and using software applications, certification with Healthcare Financial Management Association or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative.
