Job Title: Dental Patient Access Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Metro Community Health Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our dental clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a positive patient experience by greeting and checking in patients in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage patient records and related documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Affect favorable billing and collection outcomes by collecting and submitting patient information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure all tasks related to patient care and administrative processes comply with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide basic education and information about oral hygiene and general oral health care to patients.
  • Handle and resolve patient concerns with empathy and enthusiasm.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including scheduling patients, managing supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer experience and knowledge of dental terminology and procedure codes.
  • Current Radiation Safety Certificate and/or successful completion of a radiation safety course.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Certification in Office Practice or enrollment in such a program is desired.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal clinic working environment.
  • Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to speak and read and write the English Language.
  • Ability to move freely and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

Category I: Job classification includes ALL employees who have occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing their job duties.
