Job Title: Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team at Roessel Joy. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial transactions.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full A/P cycle, ensuring timely processing and entry of vendor invoices and payments.
  • Process paper checks for distribution and maintain precise records of all vendor payments.
  • Assist with review of timesheets and expense reports to ensure correct coding, amounts, and receipts.
  • Liaise with team members to correct any inaccuracies and ensure accurate bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Monitor 1099 vendor files for accuracy and up-to-date W9's tax reporting.
  • Complete special projects as needed and manage the accounts receivable function by preparing, posting, verifying, and recording customer payments and transactions.
  • Process customer payments and deposits in compliance with company procedures and assist with client billing at End-of-Month (EOM).
  • Pull and analyze AR aging report and follow up on any past due receivables, researching and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Reconcile the AR ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and posted, maintaining and updating customer files as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Accounts Payable and Receivable Specialist, Accounting Clerk, or similar accounting role.
  • Advanced knowledge of database and spreadsheet tools such as Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with high attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Strong data entry skills and proficiency with MS Office, with expert proficiency in Excel.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with strong communication and organizational abilities.
