The Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Group and Events Sales Manager to join our US-based team. As a key member of our MICE team, you'll work closely with customers to deliver exceptional group travel and event experiences. Your primary focus will be on serving our North American customers, working with Sales and Account Management to highlight the value of our MICE team and sell our add-on services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage RFPs for a global portfolio of customers, overseeing the process from proposal to negotiation terms, including site inspections as needed.
  • Collaborate with the wider sales organization to increase client awareness of our MICE offering, participating in discovery calls and aiming to generate more opportunities, especially with Account Management teams.
  • Coordinate operational processes with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless setup of arrangements based on customer requirements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to phone calls and email requests/queries from existing and potential new customers in a timely manner.
  • Offer tailored solutions and recommendations to meet customers' event or group accommodation needs.
  • Proactively maintain relationships with customers, identifying future opportunities and delivering exceptional service throughout the process.
  • Problem-solve and anticipate customer needs to provide top-notch customer service.
  • Process responses to clients in a timely manner, adhering to MICE service level agreements.
  • Act in accordance with Company Quality Standards and Procedures.
  • Contribute to process improvements and participate in the global MICE team, assisting colleagues as needed.
  • Maximize revenue streams for North America and other regions, supporting overall revenue targets and driving profitability.
Requirements:
  • Previous sales experience in venue sourcing, meetings, and events teams.
  • Excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Problem-solving attitude with a focus on delivering quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Friendly and professional telephone manner.
  • Confidence in negotiating rates with suppliers over the phone and via email.
  • Great time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Positive, flexible attitude, and a team player.
Bonus Points:
  • Experience with MICE venue searching tools like Cvent.
  • Good knowledge of event venues, hotels, and destinations worldwide.
  • GDS Amadeus certification, including experience with manual ticket reissuing.
