This role necessitates a minimum of 3 years of experience in customs brokerage within the international shipping sector. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of regulations pertaining to both imports and exports.

If you lack a broker license, your application may still be considered if you can demonstrate substantial knowledge of international shipping processes.

This is a full-time, direct hire position. Medical and dental benefits will be provided following the completion of a probationary period. Please note that this role requires in-office attendance from Monday to Friday.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary customer service liaison between the company and its clients.
  • Process customs and other government agency entries for the clearance of goods into the United States.
  • Open files and input notes, information, and document requests into the Cargowise and/or AS400 systems.
  • Classify invoices according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
  • Communicate with various stakeholders, including company employees, suppliers, service providers, and U.S. Government agencies, as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Government regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, and others.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipment weight, volume, and foreign currency conversions.
  • Assist customers with inquiries, complaints, and tracking requests.
  • Handle accounting processes with precision and timeliness.
  • Coordinate shipments from various transport modes to customer destinations.
  • Review documentation to ensure compliance with government and carrier regulations.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to emails and phone calls.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in customs brokerage or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Government Agency requirements and customs clearance processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Access, and Excel.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to build relationships with diverse internal and external clients.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to interpret documents and write routine reports.
  • Strong mathematical skills for accurate calculations.
