Position Overview:
The Multifamily Asset Manager will report directly to the Director of Asset Management and collaborate with the multifamily team to oversee and manage a variety of real estate investments, focusing on maximizing asset values. This role is pivotal in crafting and implementing strategies for portfolio and property-specific value enhancement, assessing operational performance against established benchmarks, and analyzing capital investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute operational strategies at both portfolio and property levels.
- Evaluate operational performance to identify revenue enhancement and cost reduction opportunities.
- Assess and prioritize high-return capital investment opportunities to boost asset values.
- Prepare and present comprehensive annual business plans and budgets.
- Analyze property leasing and operational reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Compile and prepare quarterly financial reports and statements.
- Participate in the acquisition and disposition processes, including due diligence for select investments.
- Oversee the transition of new assets into the portfolio.
- Engage with third-party property management and other external consultants.
- Act as a market expert for assigned properties, understanding competitive landscapes and economic factors affecting performance.
- Ensure compliance with lender requirements in collaboration with property management.
- Conduct regular property visits to coordinate management efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, finance, or accounting; advanced degrees are a plus.
- 5-7 years of experience in multifamily asset management.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing a portfolio of multifamily assets.
- Prior property-level operational experience is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Solid financial acumen with a comprehensive understanding of financial statements.
- Experience with loan agreements and financial terminology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel for property visits and due diligence activities.
