Position Overview:

The Silicon Carbide (SiC) Planning Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing both internal and external fabrication materials. This position is tasked with orchestrating optimal wafer starts and backend (BE) requirements to meet customer demand effectively. Collaboration with procurement is essential to synchronize our Substrate and Epitaxy (EPI) suppliers with our operational needs while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

In this role, you will engage with Front End (FE) and BE manufacturing teams, as well as the Integrated Planning team, to establish weekly loadings based on supply metrics. You will also manage your site's inventory in alignment with corporate objectives. This position requires extensive interaction across various departments to enhance processes and provide valuable insights to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Convert Front End start requirements into sourcing needs for Polished and Epi Wafers.
  • Serve as the main liaison between Site Planning and Substrate & EPI Planning departments.
  • Ensure Weeks of Inventory (WOI) is maintained per component and site in accordance with corporate benchmarks.
  • Project inventory needs on a Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly basis utilizing diverse forecasting methods to assess demand.
  • Adhere to corporate guidelines for reserves and scrapping, proactively identifying materials at risk and collaborating with site planning to manage inventory effectively.
  • Work alongside Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Business Units, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.
  • Develop, measure, and automate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor supply chain efficiency. Innovate processes to enhance and automate current operations.
  • Construct supply chain data analysis models to optimize key processes, such as quarterly Bill of Quantities (BOQ) runs.
  • Formulate planning strategies (Build to Forecast, Build to Target, Build to Order) to maintain a robust die bank inventory using sophisticated algorithms.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvements aimed at boosting business and planning efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless transitions from New Product Introduction to High Volume Production.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering; a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and organized individual capable of thriving in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including database management and SQL.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated individual who drives projects and enhancements to completion in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
