Position Overview:

The Silicon Carbide Production Planner at Onsemi is tasked with overseeing both internal and external fabrication materials, ensuring optimal wafer starts and back-end requirements to meet customer needs. This position necessitates collaboration with procurement to synchronize our substrate and epitaxy suppliers with our operational demands while maintaining appropriate inventory levels. You will engage with front-end and back-end manufacturing teams as well as the integrated planning team to establish weekly production schedules based on supply and manage site inventory in accordance with corporate objectives. Your role will involve cross-departmental collaboration to enhance processes and provide valuable insights to senior management. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and automating key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor supply chain efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have the chance to:

Convert front-end production requirements into polished and epitaxial wafer sourcing needs. Serve as the main liaison between site planning and substrate & epitaxy planning divisions. Manage weeks of inventory (WOI) for each component and site in line with corporate benchmarks. Project inventory levels on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis utilizing various forecasting methods to assess demand. Adhere to corporate guidelines for reserves and scrapping, proactively identifying materials at risk of being reserved and collaborating with site planning to manage inventory scrapping. Work alongside operations, supply chain planning, business units, and others to deliver exceptional service. Develop, measure, and automate KPIs for tracking supply chain performance, innovating ways to enhance and automate existing processes. Create analytical models for supply chain data that will enhance key processes such as quarterly bill of quantities runs. Establish planning strategies (Build to Forecast, Build to Target, Build to Order) to maintain a robust die bank inventory using sophisticated algorithms. Lead initiatives for process improvements aimed at increasing operational and planning efficiency. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless transitions from new product development to high-volume production.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, with a master’s in industrial engineering, engineering management, or a related discipline. Detail-oriented and organized individual capable of thriving in a collaborative environment. Proficient in computer skills, including database management and SQL. Excellent communicator, able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Self-motivated individual who drives projects and enhancements to completion in a fast-paced, time-sensitive setting.
