  • Acts as a valuable resource for all assigned commercial real estate finance relationships, serving as a bridge between clients, RMs, retail offices, cash management, loan accounting, and the commercial call center.
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of loan products, services, and Firstrust's credit policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Under the guidance of the RM, analyzes loan structures, recommends, and submits loan applications for approval to the relevant authority or loan committee. This includes preparing detailed credit memos and collaborating with the Team Leader/RM to review financial data, particularly in forecasting financial projections for new loan requests, renewals, and credit assessments.
  • Engages with clients and their accountants throughout the credit analysis process.
  • Reviews draft documents prepared by Loan Documentation or external counsel to ensure accurate representation of credit approvals, negotiating changes as necessary with both the approving authority and the client.
  • May represent the RM during settlement processes.
  • Monitors construction loans, lines of credit, permanent real estate loans, and other credit facilities to ensure adherence to financial covenants and reporting requirements, assessing the appropriateness of current risk ratings.
  • Maintains and updates a comprehensive database for tracking Financial Statements and Other Required Information, including annual, semi-annual, quarterly financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, Cash Flow Schedules, and Portfolio Valuations.
  • Responsible for tracking and resolving exceptions related to documentation, insurance, credit, etc., for all assigned commercial relationships.
  • Ensures high credit quality standards for all assigned commercial relationships and actively participates in the portfolio review process with RMs.
  • Collaborates effectively with RM and Commercial Loan Documentation to ensure that all loan packages submitted for documentation are complete and contain necessary information to expedite processing and minimize exceptions.
  • Conducts post-closing audits and reviews of executed loan packages.

In performing the essential functions of this role, the employee will engage in activities such as preparing and analyzing data using a computer terminal. The incumbent will be expected to retrieve files, draft memorandums, and communicate with both internal and external clients. Occasionally, the role may require travel to accompany RMs to various customer meetings and property inspections.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in Commercial Real Estate Lending is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate lending practices, compliance issues, and underwriting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external clients on a daily basis.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
