Position: Advanced Scientist in Drug Development

Location: Ridgefield, CT (Onsite)

Overview:

This role is pivotal in advancing the discovery of innovative biologically active substances within the eTeam pipelines. A comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical development lifecycle, alongside expertise in solid-state chemistry, process chemistry, and chemical engineering principles, is essential. This position will involve close collaboration with supervisors and colleagues in Development teams to execute solid form identification and development according to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, execute, and finalize routine and exploratory experiments with minimal supervision; Stay updated on relevant scientific literature and technological advancements.
  • Begin to cultivate an understanding of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) development challenges in the assigned area.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and assist in implementing enhancements; Integrate novel technologies into research initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate research findings in both oral and written formats, aligning with team objectives; Prepare and review technical documentation; Present findings accurately and succinctly during group meetings.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork capabilities and engage productively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Contribute to the training of fellow scientists in areas of expertise.
  • Maintain comprehensive records (electronic notebooks, binders, etc.) in compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, ensuring that all work is conducted safely and in accordance with regulations.
  • Oversee all facets of laboratory operations.

Qualifications:

Advanced Scientist:

A Master's Degree with 0-6+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's Degree with 0-10+ years of experience in Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, or related disciplines, coupled with 0-4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or pertinent research in drug substance or drug product development.

Common Requirements:

  • Proficient in independently conducting hands-on activities for solid form screening and development, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Ability to operate laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Strong enthusiasm for exploring new technologies and concepts.
  • Capable of working autonomously while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Solid understanding and experience in solid-state chemistry and process chemistry. Previous exposure to solid form, polymorphism, or crystallization development is advantageous.

Educational Background:

  • A Master's Degree with 0-6+ years of experience or a Bachelor's Degree with 0-10+ years of experience in Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, or related fields, along with 0-4 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical sector or related research.
